Wig Cap Constructions
Understanding different cap constructions can be confusing... we have put together this guide to give you a better idea of the differences and which ones are best suited to you!
Cap construction is the way the wig has been manufactured. It can mean differences in the way the wig feels to wear, how realistic the hair line/ parting appears and the cost of the wig.
Which you go for is personal preference!

The lowest cost option, if you are wearing your wig short term this may be a good option if you don’t want to spend too much. If you are buying a wig with a fringe then this will cover the machine wefted hair line so that it isn’t visible. While it makes the wig more affordable it does not mean the quality of the hair is lower. Cap construction solely relates to the way the wig is made on the inside. All the synthetic wigs on our website are a matte fibre that aim to replicate the look of human hair.

The higher cost option. The hair at the crown is on a mesh base so that from above it replicates growing hair to give a realistic parting and hair line. These wigs commonly have PU tabs to help prevent slipping and make them comfortable to wear. For women with complete hair loss who are planning to wear a wig daily and long term they have lots of benefits and are worth the extra cost!
Other cap constructions are available such as the ones below. There is no right or wrong when choosing which you go for, this guide is purely to give you a better insight into the differences.
