Holiday Tips For Wig Wearers

Holiday Tips For Wig Wearers

Wearing your wig on holiday shouldn’t cause any problems but we have put together some tips for you to keep in mind.

  • If you are wearing your wig through security you shouldn’t experience any issues. Wigs don’t typically contain any metal so shouldn't trigger alarms when going through scanners. If you have clips sewn onto your wig then these may be made of metal - you can either remove them and sew them back on after or inform the security officer discreetly, they are trained to deal with these situations so don't worry!

  • Wearing a wig grip headband can help to keep it in place if you are worried about how secure your wig feels. Anyone can use these, it doesn’t matter how much hair you have underneath. If you have no hair underneath you can also use wig/ toupee tape, cut a small piece off and place it at your hairline to keep it in position  - you can get both of these on Amazon.

  • If you are taking your wig and not wearing it to travel, we recommend keeping it in a silk pillowcase/ bag as this will help prevent friction frizz from travelling and keep it protected.

  • Take a collapsible wig stand! They save space when packing and give you somewhere to keep your wig when you're not wearing it. You can get these off Amazon.

  • Take an older wig for the beach/ swimming. There are many things which can lower the life span such as heat/ humidity, chlorine and salt water so wearing an old one through the day means you don’t have to worry about ruining your favourite wig!

  • Most importantly enjoy your holiday!
