Choosing The Right Ponytail

Choosing The Right Ponytail

Ponytail extensions are popular at the minute… not only because they look amazing when fitted but because of how easy they are to fit yourself.

There are different lengths, styles and attachments available depending on what look you are after!

With clip in extensions you would match them up with the ends of your hair however, with a ponytail you need to consider your root colour. The ponytail will cover the majority of the ends of your own hair so make sure the shade you choose won’t look out of place against your roots - especially if you have a darker root.

Typically the claw clip is the easiest application method. However, you need to choose one which is best suited to your hair type. We have put together some recommendations if you are unsure which to go for.

We would recommend the drawstring method as it is the lightest. You put your own hair in a bun and secure the drawstring around the bun. This means there is little tension on your own hair to avoid breakage and it allows you to get a close, secure connection.

The claw clip attachment works well in thicker hair as it gives the clip enough hair to securely grip onto. The wrap around would also work well on thick hair as it would give support to the ponytail to prevent it from slipping.

So long as you can get your hair into a small bun, the drawstring method would work on shorter hair. It will conceal your own hair while feeling secure.
